Carroll County Vegetable Gardening Classes and Events


The 2012 classes, plant clinics, and events listed below are scheduled in Carroll County.  Classes held at the Extension office are $10.00 per class per family unless otherwise noted.  Registration is requested, although walk-ins are accepted.  Most Extension office classes cover 3 topics and have a food prepration demonstration.  To register call 410-386-2760.  Payment will be taken at the door.  Make checks payable to CCEAC.

Library and Farmer's Market classes are free, no registration required.

Grow it, Eat It, Preserve It workshops demonstrate recommended water bath and pressure canning methods focusing on food safety, proper canning equipment and tested recipes. Cost is $35 and includes handouts, fruit/vegetables, lids and jars, and use of canning equipment. Also, included in your registration fee is a food preservation cookbook with updated tested recipes and in-depth information for both the new and experienced food preserver, including information on water bath and pressure canning, pickling, jams and jellies, freezing and drying.
